What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a natural and individual health approach facilitating and enhancing the bodies innate ability to return to homeostasis by utilising traditional and up to date research to treat the underlying cause and reduce symptoms. It can help with acute conditions such as reducing the duration and symptoms of the common cold too providing support and reduction of pain in chronic conditions such as arthritis or inflammatory bowel conditions.

To facilitate the healing process nutritional supplements or herbal tinctures might be prescribed to ensure that deficiencies are addressed or provide symptom relief along with dietary changes and suggestions, lifestyle and wellbeing coaching, flower essences and Swedish massage.

With the knowledge that the body is a complex and interrelated system identifying the underlying cause or contributing factors is essential for management of an individual’s health and wellbeing. Therefore a naturopathic consultation is very comprehensive and involves a series of different questions, physical assessments including skin, posture, tongue and nail analysis and Iridology.  In some cases functional and blood pathology tests may be requested.

Once this is established, a treatment plan is devised in conjunction with the client to help address the underlying cause; reduce the symptoms and ensure long-term changes for health and wellness.
